Code of Conduct

The standards of behaviour we expect from everyone who takes part in CRGD's work, events, programs and campus clubs.

CRGD brings together people of different ages, backgrounds, beliefs and political views. That is our strength, and it depends on everyone treating each other with respect. This code applies to staff, fellows, interns, coordinators, campus club members, speakers, participants in our events and anyone representing CRGD.

We expect everyone to

  • treat others with courtesy and respect, especially when disagreeing
  • argue with ideas, not attack people
  • listen, and give others a fair chance to speak
  • respect the confidentiality of discussions held under the Chatham House Rule or other agreed terms
  • be honest about the evidence and about their own interests
  • look out for each other, and report concerns

We do not accept

  • harassment of any kind, including sexual harassment
  • discrimination on the grounds of caste, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, region, language or political belief
  • intimidation, threats or abuse, in person or online
  • using a CRGD role or platform for party political campaigning
  • plagiarism or fabrication of evidence

Prevention of sexual harassment

CRGD is committed to a workplace free from sexual harassment, in line with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. [Placeholder: give the details of the Internal Committee and how to contact it.]

Raising a concern

If you experience or witness behaviour that breaks this code, please tell the person in charge of the event or program, or write to info@crgd.in. Concerns are handled confidentially and promptly. No one will be penalised for raising a concern in good faith.

Consequences

Depending on the seriousness of the behaviour, CRGD may issue a warning, ask a person to leave an event, end their participation in a program, or end their association with CRGD.
