A CRGD Policy Club is a group of students who meet regularly to discuss public policy. Clubs choose their own topics and activities, with support from CRGD.

Typical activities

  • Discussion of a policy issue in the news, with a short reading
  • Budget simulations, in which members balance a state or college budget
  • Mock assemblies and committee hearings
  • Field visits to local government offices and public institutions
  • Writing for the Young Thoughts series

Starting a club

  1. Gather at least five interested students.
  2. Find a faculty member willing to support the club.
  3. Register the club with CRGD by email.
  4. Receive the starter kit and plan your first meeting.

Clubs are non partisan. They welcome members of all political views and do not campaign for any party.
