How to submit

  1. Send a pitch first. Email a short pitch of no more than 200 words to the submissions address below. Tell us the argument, why it matters now, and why you are the right person to write it.
  2. We reply within ten working days. If we are interested, an editor will agree length, deadline and focus with you.
  3. Write and submit the draft as an editable document, with sources linked or listed at the end.
  4. Editing. An editor will work with you on structure, clarity and accuracy. You will approve the final version before publication.

Send pitches to submissions@crgd.in with “Pitch:” and your proposed title in the subject line.

Our expectations

  • The piece must be your original work and not published elsewhere, unless agreed in advance.
  • Factual claims must be supported by sources we can check.
  • Disclose any interest that a reader would consider relevant, such as employment, funding or political affiliation.
  • Write in plain language. Avoid jargon and acronyms where you can.
  • Respect people you disagree with. We do not publish personal attacks.

Young Thoughts

The Young Thoughts series is mentored. Student writers are paired with a CRGD researcher who helps them develop their argument and their evidence. It is a good place for a first publication. Campus club members can also submit through their club coordinator.

Rights and payment

Authors keep copyright in their work and grant CRGD a licence to publish it and make it available under our republishing terms. [Placeholder: state here whether contributors are paid, and if so how much.]

Language

We accept submissions in English and Malayalam.
