Safe Streets for Children
Advocacy for safe speed limits, crossings and footpaths around every school, beginning with pilot zones in Thiruvananthapuram.
Children walking or cycling to school face some of the most dangerous moments of their day. This campaign asks local governments, the public works department and the police to make the area around every school a safe zone, with lower speeds, safe crossings and continuous footpaths.
CRGD supports the campaign with data on crashes near schools, design guidance drawn from international practice and assessments of pilot zones.
