CRGD launched its special report After the Landslides: Building Safer Hill Communities with a panel discussion.
The authors presented the report’s main recommendations: ward level susceptibility maps, community evacuation triggers tied to rainfall warnings, geological assessment before construction on steep slopes, and rehabilitation that gives families real choice.
Panellists discussed the practical obstacles to each recommendation and the role of local governments and volunteers.
